A dryer that dries by sensing

The DLE3450 is an electric dryer. Many LG dryers end a cycle when sensor bars inside the drum decide laundry is dry. If those bars are coated, the dryer may think clothes are wet and keep going, which is why an HS code warns that the cycle may run far longer than normal.

Clean the sensor bars

When the drum is cool, wipe the two metal strips inside with a cloth dampened with white vinegar. Rinse with a clean damp cloth. Fabric softener sheets leave film, so use them sparingly. If the code returns, the sensor or its board needs a look.

When the Wi-Fi misbehaves

A dryer can display nE or nF for a communication or module fault; both require service. The app might show the dryer offline while it dries normally. Read our ThinQ offline article before assuming a repair is needed.

Ventilation in small units

In compact condos the duct often turns twice before reaching the wall. A crushed hose or a clogged outside cap lengthens cycles even when sensors are fine. We compare drying time with a clean filter and clear vent to separate the two.

When the cycle ends too early

The opposite problem exists too: clothes still damp when the dryer stops. A sensor that reads dry too soon, or a vent that traps heat and trips protection, can both do it. We compare a test load with the cycle result before saying which one applies.

Before the technician arrives

• Clean the filter and the sensor bars.
• Run a small load and time it roughly.
• Check the outside vent flap.
• Note whether the app shows the dryer online.
