The DLE3460 is listed as an electric dryer. When it stops with a message on the display, read it before you restart.

Filter and door messages

A flashing INSERT FILTER message is the F0 code. Seat the lint screen fully, empty it and try again. If the dryer says the door is open, run a finger around the seal and the door catch for lint, then close it with a firm push. The dE page explains the door message.

The drum stops or the dryer shuts off

A drum that stops mid-cycle can have overheated, or the belt may have slipped. Let the dryer cool for a while, clean the filter and vent, and restart. A dryer that repeatedly shuts off with a clean vent needs inspection. Check our breaker article if the circuit is tripping.

Safe owner checks

• Unplug only if the cord and outlet are dry and cool.
• Clean the filter housing with a vacuum nozzle.
• Look at the exterior vent cap while the dryer runs.
• Photograph the display message for us.

Stacked and closet installs

A dryer stacked in a narrow closet has little room around the vent. The door must swing without hitting walls, and louvered closet doors should stay open during use. We note these details so any repair accounts for them.

Why lint matters beyond the filter

Lint that escapes the screen settles in the housing, the duct and the exhaust cap. Over time it slows airflow, lengthens cycles and warms the cabinet. A vacuum nozzle at the filter slot helps between visits, and we inspect the rest when we are there.
