About this model

Model overview

Why the DLG1502 is a gas case

The DLG1502 is a gas dryer. That means a burner assembly and a gas supply behind the cabinet, in addition to the drum, belt and controls. Heat comes from a flame that must light and stay lit, so gas repairs follow stricter caution than electric ones.

If you smell gas

Leave the room, do not touch switches, and call the gas utility or 911 from outside. Do not try to run the dryer again. Gas fittings are never an owner task.

Typical faults on a gas dryer

  • The drum turns but the air stays cool: igniter, gas valve coil, flame sensor or a limit device.
  • Heat comes and goes: weak airflow, a partly blocked vent or an overheating cut-out.
  • The dryer runs very long: restricted exhaust or a failing sensor.

LG gas dryers can show a gas supply message, described at LG dryer gas code, and an exhaust restriction family at code d75. On gas models the later restriction levels can also relate to a low gas supply.

Venting matters more here

A gas dryer sends combustion gases and moist air through the exhaust duct. Long runs, crushed foil duct behind the machine and lint-packed ends are common in older Bay Area buildings. We check airflow as part of every gas dryer visit, because a blocked vent can hide behind what looks like a burner fault.

Owner checks and booking

Confirm the gas shutoff handle is in its normal position, the breaker for the control power is on, and the filter is clean. Do not loosen anything on the gas line. Then book via LG dryer repair. See also the LG dryers overview. If your home has electric supply only, the LG DLHC3602 is an electric alternative.

Closets, ducts and Bay Area buildings

Gas dryers in San Francisco often sit in closets with a louvered door or in a basement garage shared by several units. Combustion air needs a way in, so a closet with no louvers or a stack of boxes against the front can starve the burner. Keep a clear zone around the machine and never store anything on or behind it.

Long duct runs through walls and floors collect lint over the years. If your clothes need two cycles or the room gets warm and humid while it runs, tell us. It often shows the duct needs attention alongside any part repair.
