Seeing dE, or de on certain displays, tells you the dryer door is not completely closed.
Work through it in this order
Open the door and make sure the lint filter is pushed in fully.
Clear away any clothing stuck on the door.
If the unit is new, inspect for a door or frame that is bent and, on finding damage, contact the dealer.
Absent damage, reset it: unplug the dryer or trip its breaker for 5 seconds, then power it up again.
Shut the door with firm pressure, choose a cycle and press Start.
A second appearance of the code means the dryer needs service.
Lint filter codes
Two other displays involve the filter. F0 appears when it is not seated properly, while IF comes up on a WashTower dryer that does not detect it.
