A ventless electric dryer sits well in a flat with no outside wall. When it slows down or stops, we find out why before anything is replaced.

Model overview

What the DLHC1455 is

In our model library the DLHC1455 is an electric dryer of the ventless type. Because it has no duct to the outside, it handles moisture inside the cabinet and sends it to a drain path instead of a wall vent. That one design fact shapes almost every repair question about it.

Ventless units suit San Francisco closets, hallway laundry nooks and condo utility cupboards where cutting a vent hole is not an option. They also mean that airflow, lint and drain water matter more than owners expect.

Complaints we hear most

  • Clothes come out damp after a full cycle and the cycle runs long.
  • The cabinet feels hot at the back but the load stays cool.
  • A water message or a pool of water appears near the base.
  • The drum turns but there is no heat, or the unit stops mid-cycle.

Long cycles with damp laundry usually trace back to lint packed in the filter or in the heat exchange area, a restricted drain path, or a sensor reading the wrong temperature. A technician separates those causes by measuring and inspecting, not by swapping parts at random.

Setting up a ventless dryer in a tight space

Check that nothing is pressed against the unit. A dryer stacked under a shelf, wedged into a closet door frame or pushed hard against the wall can run hotter and dry slower. The drain hose should run without a pinch or a sharp bend, and it should not be fed into a pipe higher than the manufacturer intends.

If you see a drain or water display message, our page for LG dryer code E13 explains the hybrid condensing drain meaning. A related drain code is covered at code nd.

Checks you can do from the outside

Switch the dryer off, clean the lint filter, and wipe the filter seat. Make sure the door closes fully and the gasket is not folded. Confirm the breaker is on and the plug is seated. Look at the drain hose for kinks and write down any code on the display before you reset anything.

One controlled power reset is fine. Do not open the cabinet, and do not run a hot cycle again if you smell burning. In that case turn the breaker off and book a visit.

Visit and next steps

Have the full label from the door frame or the inside of the door ready, plus the code and what the dryer does. We diagnose first, give a written estimate, and repair only after you approve. Read more on the LG dryer repair service page and the LG dryers guide. A sister ventless model is the LG DLHC6702.
