PF means the power dropped
PF is short for power failure. The code can appear when electricity to the washer was cut mid-cycle, for instance during an outage. Front-load and top-load washers both show it, and dryers list the code as well.
Front-load washers: reset steps
Cut power by unplugging the washer or switching off its circuit breaker.
While the washer is unpowered, hold START/PAUSE for 5 seconds.
Restore the power and attempt a cycle.
If PF is still there, the washer needs repair service.
Top-load washers: not a fault
A top-load washer remembers where it stopped. When power returns after an outage or a pulled cord, it picks up from that point, and the manual says this is not an error. Press start/pause to run it again.
