Error codePS, P5
ApplianceWasher
Why the program stopped
PS reports a power supply issue, and the washer halts because it cannot carry on with its program. You may see P5 on the display instead, because S and 5 look identical on a 7-segment readout. Front-load and top-load washers are both included.
Steps in the manual
Take any power strip out of the picture and connect the cord straight to a wall outlet.
Pull the plug, wait 60 seconds, then start the washer again.
If a top-load washer will not power up
Inspect the power source. The supply voltage is wrong in this case, and the washer needs 120 V AC with correct polarity.
If PS persists even from a direct wall connection, dial (415) 223-7887. For LG washer repair in the Bay Area it helps to know which outlet the washer used, and to have the model number handy.
Model compatibility: LG reuses codes across series and model years, so PS, P5 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
