Two ovens, one cutout: the WDEP9423F is a 30 inch double wall oven, and faults can hit either side.
The WDEP9423F is a double wall oven at 30 inches. Two separate cavities are stacked, with a shared control area. When one side fails, you can often keep using the other, but a burning smell or sparks is a reason to cut power at the breaker.
A meat probe message appears at code F18 and code F8. A door lock problem appears at code F10 for the top oven and code F20 for the bottom. A fan message is at code F7. Try cleaning the probe jack with a dry cloth and reseating the probe once.
Double ovens in San Francisco condos often sit in kitchens with little ventilation. Heat can build up around the cabinet, so the fans and the vents matter. Keep the vent gaps clear, and avoid lining the cavity with foil that covers the floor or the slots.
Cool the oven fully, check the breaker, wipe the door seal area and the glass. Read the display and note the cavity involved. Use only one controlled power reset. Do not remove screws or panels.
Our LG range and oven repair page explains booking, and the LG ranges and ovens guide explains the lineup. Another oven you may compare is the LG WCES6428N. Expect a diagnosis, a written estimate and no work without your approval.
Never use the oven door as a step or hang heavy items on the handle; hinges and the lock mechanism suffer. Keep the cavity clear of loose foil and spilled sugar that burns hard onto the floor. If a cooking odor lingers days after a clean cycle, tell us.
A hot, humid smell with no food inside is worth reporting early, since it can point to a cooling fan that is not moving enough air through the cabinet.
A double oven is heavy. Clear a path from the kitchen entrance, move rugs and loose items, and let us know about stairs or tight doorways. We protect the floor and the cabinet edges while the oven is out, and we put it back only after testing both cavities.
Two ovens stacked in one cutout, each with its own door.
Often yes, unless there is a burning smell, sparks or a tripping breaker.
Switch off at the breaker briefly and restore power once. Do not repeat it many times.
Check the frame edge when the door is open, or look in your manual.
