Reading the PS code
PS is the dryer’s way of saying that the voltage coming through the power cord is wrong. LG’s manual names one possible reason: the white and red wires may be connected the wrong way round on the terminal block.
Owner checklist
Cord installation: look at how the cord is attached at the rear of the dryer and compare it with the cord instructions in the owner’s manual.
Outlet: it should be grounded and supply the 240 volts listed on the dryer’s data plate.
Breaker: switch the dryer’s breaker off for no less than 10 seconds.
A freshly installed dryer
If the machine went in recently, ask the installer to come back and check the cord and the wall outlet. The terminal block wiring is work for an installer or a technician, not for the owner.

nP shares the breaker step and concerns no current at the heater.
If the dryer is still not heating, phone (415) 223-7887 about LG dryer repair for San Francisco and Bay Area homes. Have the code, the model number and the checks you made on hand.
Model compatibility: LG reuses codes across series and model years, so PS may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
PS indicates improper voltage from the power cord, possibly from the white and red wires being reversed at the terminal block.
Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
