LG Washer IE, E02 and E10 Error Codes

VERIFIED

Error code IE / E02 / E10
Appliance Washer

The washer posts IE, E02 or E10 when the water level in the tub stays too low for a set period, in other words an inlet error. The manual starts with the faucet and the hose attached to the machine, and covers front-load, top-load and WashTower models. A note for the SideKick follows further down.

Why the tub can run short

  • Water is shut off, the faucet is closed, or the supply hose was never connected.
  • The hose is crushed or kinked.
  • The pipe or hose has frozen in cold weather.

Faucet and hose checks

  1. Verify that the supply hose is hooked up to the faucet.
  2. Open the faucet if it is closed; turning it anti-clockwise opens it.
  3. Free any hose that has been pinched or folded. A washer that moves during washing and spinning can bend it. For a severe bend, shut the faucet, take the hose off and straighten it out.

Cleaning the inlet filter

Close the taps and separate the hose end. Take the inlet filter out with tweezers or your fingers, then use a small brush, a toothbrush for instance, to remove rust, sand and pebbles.

If freezing is possible

Remove the hose and turn the faucet on. When nothing flows, the faucet is frozen: keep a towel soaked in hot water around it for 5 minutes. Thaw the detached hose in warm water below 50 °C. Should these steps change nothing, the water supply valve may be the faulty part.

SideKick pedestal washer

For a SideKick the code is a water supply problem. LG asks for faucets that are fully open, hoses without kinks, adequate water pressure and clean inlet filters.

Related codes

  • FF: a frozen hose can produce the same shortage
  • FE: the opposite trouble, with extra water in the drum
  • LE: a drum that will not turn

What this code means

IE, E02 and E10 are water inlet errors: the LG washer tub did not fill to an adequate level within the expected time.
